Boys and Girls Club Information
The Boys and Girls Club of Wetaskiwin has a number of exciting Afterschool Programs to offer children and youth this Fall and all year long…from cooking and gardening to leadership and teamwork. See below for more fun details of each program and how to register.
Torch Club
Leadership Club for youth 10 to 13 years focusing on 5 core elements: service to club and community, teamwork, healthy choices, leadership, and learning for life. Personal awareness and self-confidence will be developed in a supportive team environment through activities and projects at the club and community with opportunities to attend regional conferences.
Date: Thursdays, October 2017-May 2018
Starts: October 12, 2017
Time: 4:00 – 5:00pm
Fee: $50.00
Keystone Club
Leadership Club for youth 14 to 18 years focusing on 6 core elements: service to club and community, teamwork, healthy choices, leadership, learning for life and civic engagement. Personal awareness and self-confidence will be developed in a supportive team environment through activities and projects at the club and community with opportunities to attend regional and national conferences.
Date: Wednesdays, October 2017-May 2018
Starts: October 11, 2017
Time: 4:00 – 5:00pm
Fee: $50.00
Tower Garden
This program will allow young gardeners, ages 8 to 12, the opportunity to learn the basics of growing plants from seed to harvest. They will also take what they grow to make nutritious meals or snacks and find out the difference between traditional and aeroponic gardens.
Dates: Wednesdays from October 11 to November 29, 2017 (8 sessions)

Fee: $20.00
Young Chefs
Children ages 8 to 12 will learn basic culinary skills in the kitchen while reading recipes and working in a team atmosphere. The program also encourages healthy eating by helping to understand the Canada Food Guide.
Dates: Thursdays starting October 12 to November 30 (8 sessions)
Times: 4:15 to 5:30pm
